How do I remove inappropriate content from my phone?

I lent my phone to someone (NOT HAPPENING AGAIN!!!) They apparently got on the internet from my phone and looked at an inappropriate website and now whenever I open my browser this web page comes up. I have already tried removing and replacing my battery several times. How can I remove this website from my browser permanently? The phone is an HTC android Thunderbolt.

Thanks!!!!!

Update:

I have cleared my history, it does not work.

It does not matter if the government sees this content nor do I care, I just do not want to see it everytime I open my phone and I cannot let my kids use my phone until it is removed.

Bring up your browser page, from there go into where it says recent, favourites ,add to favourites, bring up recent there should be a dustbin, press to empty your recent viewing, then just put anything from favourites or put something in the internet explorer an it should disappear.

Hope this helps I am not a techie.

to late , the government already has it . under the 2007 homegrown radicalization and terrorist act ( sec 1955d ) the government , without a warrant SAVES every one of your pictures , searches , texts , tweets , youtube , facebook , etc etc , from phones and internet , FOREVER , for later use against you .
