I was thinking about this the other day. Human beings are blanks. Like a canvas. Life is the paint. We wonder if there is something before life, an essence, a soul. Well clearly this child was born with a personality. She likes making funny faces and loves eating vanilla pudding while her sister abhors pudding and couldn't be bothered to make a funny face. This must prove an original personality, perhaps a soul. Well. I'm starting to think no. Personalities are "imperfections". All humans are exactly the same but the "imperfections" change our brains so we end up being something distinct. Like that canvas. Life experiences will no doubt cover who we are to a large degree but the greater the imperfection in the canvas, the harder it is to cover so the more imperfect one is the more distinct they are. Reflections? Yes. But look into an imperfect mirror and who knows what you will see.
