Just formatted and reinstalled windows 7, but my pc is still.. slow?
Hi there,
So last night I formatted my pc, and had a fresh install of windows 7. I've installed World of Warcraft only to find it is no faster than it was before (yet it was way faster when I first got the pc 2 years ago). Is there anything I can do to speed up my game and have a better performance? Even turning on my pc isn't as instant as it was a long time ago. I'm not good with pcs so any links to programs that could help etc would be great.
Sorry.
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.
HP Pavilion: Intel Core i7 CPU, 8GB Ram, GeForce GT 230, I don't know what the motherboard is.. I think it's something made for the HP Pavilion that doesn't have an exact model number.

Unfortunately, it's not software that's your issue but your hardware. It would seem that your hardware has degraded in performance. I recommend getting a new graphics card and new processor or getting a new powerful pc computer all together.
Only thing I can about as a flaw in the software is if u have installed too many programs that's taking up most of your CPU on standby.

Was the "WORLD OF WARCRAFT" faster earlier? OR you have installed it for the first time?. If so your multimedia card or RAM is not powerful enough to give the speedy performance required by this program. You may have to upgrade these.
If you are not good with PCs, please get the assistance of a hardware guy.

You need to check the processes that are running on your computer. When you start the computer there may be background processes such as anti virus software that is scanning your computer and using up a lot of resources. Windows does a lot background stuff like checking for updates and building indexes for fast searches.
You need to work out whether your computer is slow all the time or just at certain times. Then use Task Manager to check on which process is using your resources.

Hey there,
If you want to clean your pc and make it faster and more secure use Ccleaner. It's free and ot works like a charm. Download it from here http://bit.ly/UrArJo

Run your PC in Safe Mode and delete all files in the folder located in "C:\users\username\AppData\Local\Temp" and use Ccleaner to delete extra files in normal mode.
Defragment all Drives.
Check all Drives using Disk Check
Boot Scan your PC using Avast Antivirus.
