Question about headphones?

All right, so I'm gonna be playing with some friends later, and I was able to borrow my stepmom's earpiece, since my own headphones doesn't have any mic. However, the sound from her earpiece is pretty bad, so I thought, "Hey, why not only plug in the sound for the earpiece, and then use my headphones over it?"

I got it working, but then I found a problem: The mic would send out the sound from the speaker in the right part of my headphones, which is covering the earpiece. Can anyone tell me how to disable sound for the right part of my headphones? Or if there is a way for the mic to ignore anything other than my voice?

Update:

I think you're misunderstanding. I don't want to my friends to have to put up with my in-game sound, so I'm looking for a way to disable to the sound on that ear.

Update 2:

I think you're misunderstanding. I don't want to my friends to have to put up with my in-game sound, so I'm looking for a way to disable to the sound on that ear.
