Can I put my 5 month old in a Umbrella stroller?

It is a beautiful day and I really want to go for a walk. My husband took the car to work which has his infant stroller in it, I have a umbrella stroller but Im not sure if my 5 month old is big enough yet. He is 17lbs and can sit up with support.. is it safe??

Update:

The stroller doesnt recline and he sits with my help by holding his hands..

Unless you're walking on a smooth surface I would just carry him in a sling. 17 lbs isn't too much to carry and it's a lot for their little trunks to stabilize when it's a bumpy ride. If its walking indoor on a smooth surface like at the mall I think it's fine.

I wouldn't. Umbrella strollers that don't recline are usually meant for 6 months and up. And a month is a BIG difference around that age.

If it folds down to allow the child to recline, sure. Oh, fine, if he can sit without support that works too!

    No. Too young.
