Is it possible to practice for Super Smash Bros Brawl with SSB melee?

I have a Brawl tournament coming up soon, but I don't have a wii to practice on, but I do have a Gamecube and Melee. Can I practice on that or are the game mechanics too different?

Yes! There are many differences of course, but when it get's down to it it is the same core game. If you are going to play with friends later, just bring a gamecube controller and whoop em. Really, Link and young link are the same as toon link, and lucario is similar to Samus, and such as that. The new characters in brawl aren't that different besides sonic, snake, pit, Olimar, and rob really.

Assuming you plan on using a Gamecube controller when you play Brawl and are going to play a character from Melee, then yes. The controls are similar if not the same and many of the characters from Melee retain the same moves in Brawl.

Looks that manner thus far. Melee used to be just right, but had digicam issues. It didden't really evaluate to the orginal one, seeing that the brand new characters kinda sucked. Oh good! Brawl has some extremely good characters, lets see how it seems!

If you can use a classic controller when you play on the wii at the tournament, its actually pretty similar. If you have to use the wii mote, you are out of luck.
