Business Economics or Industrial Engineering Major?
I'm a high school student who is debating between selecting Economics and Industrial Engineering as my major.
Industrial Engineering seems a lot more prestigious than economics, and the job opportunities are more apparent.
However, Economics seems much more interesting and not as strenuous as Industrial Engineering. Also, I prefer not to work in a manufacturing factory anyways. The jobs associated with an Economics degree seem to be much less apparent than Industrial Engineering, so I fear I might deal with low pay, or even worse: unemployment.
Industrial Engineering provides a more defined set of skills than Economics, but I fear that I might not do well in this major, as I might not be smart enough [the highest level of math I'll have taken by the end of senior year is IB Math SL - Calc. and Descriptive Statistics] thus leaving me with only the crappy jobs.
Yet, Industrial Engineering would seem to let me be more of a benefit to society than Economics.
What exactly can someone even do with a bachelors in Economics from a University's Business department? Any specific job titles? Are these well paying with good room for advancement?
Whenever I see lists of majors by salary, Economics majors usually surpass Industrial Engineering with median salaries of $93k +. Why is this?
Which degree would better suit an introvert? [me]
Thanks!

The most important factors are your abilities , attitudes, skills and your out look to life . Pay may be less important . You could be better in business economic with Accounting than industrial Engineering which you are afraid to be in this Major.
