This is a math question for my homework. Please confirm if I answered it correctly or not.
David and Amy are going on holiday with their 3 children.
The following gives information about the cost of travel and the cost of the hotel:
Travel:
Each adult - $60
Each child - $50
Hotel:
Room for 2 adults - $45 per night
Room for 3 children - $55 per night
David and Amy have saved $1500 for their holiday.
They will be away for 7 nights.
How much of the $1500 will they have left to spend on their holiday?
And this is what I answered:
TRAVEL:
David - $60
Amy - $60
Child 1 - $50
Child 2 - $50
Child 3 - $50
Total = $270
HOTEL:
David & Amy - $45 x 7 = $315
The 3 children - %55 x 7 = $385
$385 + $315 + $270 = $970
$1500 - $970 = $530.
They will have $530 left to spend on their holiday.
Thanks guys!

Cost Function for Adults:
A(x) = 45x + 120
Cost function of Children:
C(x) = 55x + 150
Total Saved, S = 1500
A(x) + C(x) ≤ S:
x = 7
45(7) + 120 + 55(7) + 150 ≤ 1500
315 + 120 + 385 + 150 ≤ 1500
970 ≤ 1500
and
1500 - 970 = 530
so
The statement is true and your answer is correct.
