How can one support higher taxes?

The Federal Governments revenue is around $2.5 Trillion Dollars. The US Population is around 311 million.

Let's put that $2.5 trillion into prespective.

It's $8,800 per person.

That's more money then almost every other Countries entire GDP. The only Countries that have GDP's larger then that are China $7 trillion, Japan $5 trillion, germany $3.5 trillion and France $2.7 trillion. Every other Countries GDP is less the. $2.4 trillion.

How can you justify the federal government needing more revenue?

Easy. Those who are not the ones being taxed and are morally bankrupt.

Welcome to my world. I guesstimate that I pay the way for at least two welfare scum families through income and property taxes.

Now you know why I'm so bitter.

Let's put this into a real perspective. We have the lowest tax rates we've had in decades, despite population increases and economic growth. We have one of the worst infrastructure systems in the world, and a lot more to spend on. Taxes are the way to get that money.

But, when you have a single mother of 2 children who can collect government benefits which amount to more than $57,000 per year, that takes up the $8800 of more than 8 people when you consider the cost of administration.

Well, with the way our government is spending our tax dollars, we absolutely do not need higher taxes. But, we are one of the lowest taxed developed countries and, if our tax dollars were put to use the right way, I absolutely would advocate higher taxes, depending on what the government planned to do with them. There are many things that could directly benefit taxpayers that tax revenue can be used for but, again, I would never support higher taxes with the current state of our government.

Well, we would do better if we cut military spending drastically and make it so that we seem like an actual republic to the world rather than an EMPIRE.Plus, we have the largest GDP thanks to the many multinational corporations that are in the US.

the superb cuts social application spending because of the fact it is going to become a crutch for individuals who don't opt to attempt and greater suitable theit very own subject. elevating taxes does much less for elevating revenues for the government. the utmost 2 years of revenuw for the U.S. have been under Reagan and W. with very low tax expenses. Plus the hypocracy of "paying greater in taxes is patriotic" is laughable. Democrats are greater interested in finding out to purchase classes with individuals's funds that finding out to purchase it themselves.

Taxes are the price we pay for living in a civilized society. They pay for the FBI, CIA, the military, roads and bridges and many other things.

one has to be totally deceived about reality to accept taxes in the first place .. in a fiat currency world controlled by for-profit banks .. taxes are how they insure the interest on the loans they make .. taxes pay for nothing contrary to popular deception ..

We all had higher taxes during Clinton, the last time our economy was healthy.
