if 90% of the people in the US wants a bill to be passed and every time it gets to congress they deny it...?
is there another way that the government can pass the bill that is requested by the majority of THE PEOPLE?
because it doesn't make any sense how the whole country wants something and when it reaches congress, they just lay it off.

Face it. The government is totally out of control and unresponsive to the wants and needs of the American people. Our "representatives" are completely absorbed with nothing more than advancing their own agendas, gaining power, and making money.

"If 90% of the people in the US wants a bill to be passed" it's because the media is LYING ABOUT THE BILL or because it's a CONSERVATIVE Bill.
Obama considers it the highest imperative to DEFEAT what the people want, and said it's important to LIE TO THEM so they'll support things they DON'T ACTUALLY WANT.
Take the "Universal Background Check" plan Democrats presented (since it's probably what you had in mind:)
Given the dishonest TITLE Democrats put on the Bill, most people said it seemed like a good idea.
Shown ACTUAL CONTENT OF THE BILL, no poll or focus group found EVEN ONE PERSON who supported it.

The clear majority of registered voters (70 million) didn't vote.
That's a request for No President.
It doesn't make sense that second place (first loser), takes the office.

I agree with you in principle as every poll showed the American people did not want Obamacare. It was passed anyway and to this day remains unpopular. As to the specific topic you refer to, I've yet to see evidence that 90% of the populace desires the government to infringe the Second Amendment.

So logically if 90% of people in the US wanted to re institute Slavery then congress needs to get on board right?

Vote for Congressmen and Senators who will do what you want then.
When you're talking about gutting a cornerstone of the US Constitution, a lot of lawmakers (on both sides) are going to flinch at hack partisan politics.

congress represents voters... not some meaningless opinion poll...
...the last time we got a President who lead according to poll numbers we got the vapid, feel-good Presidency of Bill Clinton...

What you do is wait until the next election and replace the people in Congress.

regarding gun control; the 90% poll and the bill introduced in the Senate had no connection to each other

I highly doubt 90% of Americans all want the same thing, but what are you referring to specifically?
