Split the triangle down the middle to make two right triangles. Assuming you're given side measurements or angles use either trigonometry or Pythagorean theorem (a^2 + b^2 = c^2 where c is the hypotenuse) to determine the height!

for example an isosceles with side lengths 3, 3 and 8.

Split down the middle, you have two right triangles with measurements 3, 4 and unknown. 3^2 + 4^2 = 25, so the root of that, 5, gives you the height of your triangle!
