MTG Ruling: Varolz, the Scar-Striped?

Varolz, the Scar-Striped says "Each creature in your graveyard has scavenge."

Let's say I have a Knight of Infamy and a Varolz, the Scar-Striped in play. I attack with the Knight of Infamy, and its Exalted trigger makes it a 3/2. Before the turn ends, I use Varolz's sacrifice ability to put the Knight of Infamy in my graveyard. Is the Knight of Infamy still considered a 3/2 while it's in the graveyard until the turn ends, or does it go back to a 2/1? So if I tried to scavenge the Knight onto my Varolz, would it result in 3 counters or only 2?

When a creature leaves play, it forgets everything that it knew while on the battlefield including buffs from things like Exalted. It will be a 2/1. The only creature that keeps some of its buffs is Skullbriar.
