Jobs like social worker or counselor dealing with disabled children?

So I am a senior in high school and will be entering college next fall with a family studies and human development major. I knew i wanted to work with disabled children after taking a class in school where we helped out the special education kids with daily activities and jobs. My number one choice of career would be to be a social worker, but I don't want to deal with the government as much. What other jobs are out there that I can strive for? Please help, thank you!:)

You may want to look into Human Service field. It is just like social work, but a bit different since you will be directly giving a service to children. Often the social worker directs or oversees a clients needs. A human service worker works directly with he clients services.

The services could be respite, ABA, or teaching students to achieve goals outside the classroom.
