was this a fair chemistry question?

what are not SYMPTOMS of being exposed to radiation?

1. higher count of white blood cells

2. Death

3. mutation

4. lower count of white blood cells

clearly its a, but what's confusing is that he asked, "SYMPTOMS" and death isnt one.... trick question....what do you guys think?

Update:

thanks you are right, i felt stupid afterwards. poorly worded question, i was looking too deep into the question. thanks!

Perhaps it is not the best worded question in the world, but I think it's perfectly fair. You well understood what he was after. Perhaps it should have been worded as:

"Which of the following IS NOT a result of exposure to radiation?"

Unless he counts "higher count of white blood cells" as incorrect because he was looking for the idea that death isn't a symptom, I wouldn't question him about it.
