Do you use a knife or a spoon to spread jam?

Parents taught me to spread jam with a knife I think, but I find it more efficient to do with a spoon now that I'm older.

For jelly and jam I've always used a spoon! It makes it a lot easier to s p r e a d thangs all over the bread.
