Why does gas spray through carburetor?

After being being rebuilt, why does fuel still spray through the carburetor. P.s it carburetor from a boat, & what do I do to fix it

    Carburetors are supposed to allow fuel and air to flow into the engine. The job of the carburetor is to draw in the proper amount of fuel based on the amount of air being sucked in the engine. When you say "...fuel spray through ..." I guess you might mean too much fuel sprays in the carburetor since you had problems with it. Try this; Put the float in a bottle of clean gasoline and see if it really does float. Many floats were ruined by MTBE and other alcohols in gasoline so they became saturated and would not float. The affected carbs would flood the engine. If you have that condition, you need to replace the float.
