That's really mean question to ask only because there are so many favorites out there. Hmm one of my top favorites is Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. I love it because it shows me that my life isn't as bad as the people in the book or it couldn't be ask bad but at the same time, the book gives me hope for the future, gives me hope that maybe our society will turn itself around for the better. Then it sparks a little flame of rebellion in my eye, makes me want to stand up for something that I believe in whole heartily. It shows me that people can change, that it's possible.
It's a great book, I highly recommend it

The Stand by Stephen King at the moment. It's funny because it's not a book I thought I would love (it's very supernatural and heavy on the religious themes. Plus most of my favorite characters die), but I do. I love most of the characters which is something that usually doesn't happen, and I love the sense of mystery yet optimism by the ending. I just think it's a really powerful story and I'd recommend it to anyone.

A cry of stone - Michael D. O' Brien
The focus is on Native American Rose who was abandoned by her mother and father, raised by her frail grandmother on the Canadian prairie and suffers from a bad case from scoliosis. She refuses to allow it to limit her enjoyment of life. Her artistic talent beings her into contact with a variety of personalities.....some are edifying and some are abusive. Through it all Rose remains a beacon of integrity.
