How do i convert rads into revs?
I am working on a physics problem. I need to convert 15.71 rads into revs.
i did the following calculation: 15.71 rads x 1 rev/2 * pi rad = 24.68
however an online converter i used shows the answer as being 2.5 revs
I can not figure out what i am doing wrong. Can someone please help?
thanks :)
Thank you!!!
you were right, i was entering it as 15.71 x's (1 / 2 x's pi)... I just tried 15.71 x's 1 / (2 x's pi) and that worked.
thanks again!

You aren't using your parenthesis correctly. You need to parenthetically enclose the (2*pi) when you enter it in to the calculator.
Remember the PEMDAS rule? Parenthesis, exponents, multiplication and division, addition and subtraction.
There is an unspoken part of this rule, that the M and D have the same precedence. Neither one has priority over the other. They both get evaluated in the order as they appear. The same is true for the AS part of it.
2.5 revolutions is correct.
