Players don't opt for tea or coffee. They like to have few snacks and energy drink or plain water. It is so named english men like to have fortywinks or a nap after lunch. To get refreshed at or around the time they take tea. Hence it is tea break. Cricket has nothing to do with tea.

Tea
is more popular during the cricket "tea break" because everybody drinks tea but anybody do not drink coffee.

Neither of both, In my opinion they usually take energy drinks. I love tea. Atleast four cups a day are fixed and sometimes more. Even now I am just about to take my today's last cup of tea.
