What happens if a football team is deducted points after winning the league?
If a football team has already won their domestic league before the season has finished, what would happen if they had points deducted, for example by not turning up to a match (like Middlesbrough were deducted 3 points for failing to play Blackburn a few years ago)?
Would the title be completely stripped from them or would they still be eligible to win it back in the last few games?
I mean if the team only got deducted 3 points by not turning up for a match, not for a more extreme case like match fixing.

I assume they would take the points deduction and then be allowed to play the remaining games as normal
