I'm currently in year 11 at high school in the UK and in the process of filling in my school portfolio. I'm applying to study maths, accountancy, geography, and economics at college so what, besides the obvious certificates, what should I put in my portfolio?

I'm almost 16 years old and in my final year of high school. Right now I'm in the process of writing my CV and personal statement for college but I have a small query regarding these. I'd say I'm quite good at graphic design and web development and this shows in my work as I'm currently on the highest grade in my CiDA (Certificate in Digital Applications) class with an A* grade. Although I haven't quite finished creating it, I do have a personal monogram which I use on all of my CiDA work to give a small demonstration of my capabilities.

Should I use this monogram on my CV, personal statement, and other formal documents which a college or potential employer may require? I don't want to put it on if it will make my CV and personal statement look informal, however I would like something to show that I am good with technology. Would you recommend placing my monogram on these, or do you think they will disregard my application?

I'm a 15 year old student and I'm currently researching the evolution stages of a few species. I'm not too sure which term to use when mentioning periods millions of years ago. Would it be Ma, mya, or myr, and what are the differences between them? Which is the most widely used term for geologists?

About 5 friends and I are considering to go camping on either the 8th or 9th of November (north west England) and I was wondering whether that would be too cold? If we did go we would bring enough blankets for the tent(s).

Also, if you have been camping in November before, please tell me what it was like. Did it rain? Was it too cold?

Which products and equipment will I need to get my hair to look like that? My hair is already a similiar length...

I currently use VO5 Extreme Style Texturising Gum and Schwarzkopf Got2Be Blasting Freeze hairspray to make a quiff but after a few hours my hair starts to flop down a bit.

Do I need to use any other equipment (comb, hairdryer, hairbrush etc.), and would it be better to straighten my hair as it is slightly thick?

Also, are there any products that don't make your hair feel weird when you touch it? The VO5 Texturising Gum makes my hands feel quite sticky if I touch my hair in the middle of the day.

Google have just reduced the price of the LG Nexus 4 to £159 so I was thinking of buying it sometime soon from the Play Store. What I want to know is if the phone will come unlocked so I can use a SIM card from any network, or will I have to get it unlocked?

The hard drive for my laptop which I purchased from Debenhams Plus has recently died so I'm sending the laptop back for a replacement as it is still under warranty. When I was filling out the returns form, Debenhams requested the "Manufacturers Case ID", however I don't know what this is and where I can find it, and I can't send my form without this information.

If anyone knows where I can locate this, please answer.

I've just recently finished high school so I have the summer off. A few of my friends and I have organised to go to a lake in these woods to spend the day there having a barbeque and whilst we were buying everything we bought rope to build a tree swing which extends over the lake. The problem is that none of us actually know how to tie the rope safely on the tree branch and to see the seat (we're only using one rope instead of two, like this:http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photo%E2%80%A6

My question is how would I safely tie the rope around the tree branch and would I need any other equipment such as a carabiner clip?

P.S. I put this question in the 'Climbing' section as I presumed more people will know how to tie knots in this section.

I'm starting weight lifting this week and I want to know if it's OK to bench with a curl bar.

It would only be for about a week or so before I buy a barbell so I'm just wondering if I can use my curl bar in the meantime?

I bought the Sony EX10 in-ear headphones about a month ago and today the right earphone has stopped working.

I can still hear audio from it but it is extremely quiet compared to the left earphone. Are there any suggestions as to why this has happened?

1. Does it cost to print of a postage label through Paypal? If so, how much?

2. Once the label has been stuck to the parcel, do you have to pay at the Post Office?
