Never Let Formal Education Get in the Way of Learning?
I know that this quote is attributed to Mark Twain; however, I cannot find the source wherein he made this statement. Does anybody know whence it comes?

Odds are he never said it.
One researcher who went looking for the quote traced it back to essayist and novelist Grant Allen, who said it quite often in his books and essays in the 1890's.
It wasn't until 1907 that it was attributed to Twain -- in an advertisement for an air rifle.
Advertisements are hardly a reliable source of information. It is likely someone took Allen's sentiment and attributed it to the more popular Twain.
Just FYI, the quote is actually: "I never let schoolin' interfere with my education."

Kid... let me tell you one thing. When you're in your final days, there is one thing you will feel the most at peace about. That of all the countries in the world, you were born in India. That you were raised by them. Among them. This is coming from a man who has seen a lot of different people in different countries. Indians are most disgusting, hypocritic, lethargic, unruly. But when the most pleasing, straight talking, hard working and orderly people don't care a whit about you, the hand that wipes your tears will most definitely be an Indian one. The child will love the Mother, then go away thinking She is not fit to be seen with him, and then will return to find that love intact, unmoved. This is not fate, this is the only truth. Best of luck with yourself dude. Regards,
