I answered this in another spot...but I was wondering if you are to 'MARK' the page and USE it later for other topics....making if floatable. , you may want to ask a teacher. if its in a text book, I would say no dont tear...it would say 'tear out' and use later if that was the case, if its a paper you used in the classroom for notes, you can put it back in a notebook, and in that case the 'floating' would be you using it on other things and such as comparing, then put it back when not using it. making it be floating from one topic to another for use

That's up to your discretion.
Personally, I'd put it back in, because when I completed wrecking the journal, I'd like be able to have the entire thing afterward, satisfactorily destroyed. However, if you intend to just toss the journal after, or don't anticipate returning to it, or plain don't want a loose leaf of paper in it, then you don't have to stick it back in the journal.
