Liberals. Make me believe in Obama again. He was elected twice you know. Can you help me understand why?

Obama was elected the first time because Republicans foolishly let the economy fall apart with their reckless deregulation efforts.

Obama was elected the second time because Republicans foolishly blocked economic recovery with their reckless deficit reduction efforts.

Americans are tired of Republicans demanding foolish things with regards to our economy. They'd like to see Obama's efforts have more of a shot. He did a pretty incredible job during his first two years in office, and it's hard to blame him for recent economic stagnation when Republicans block everything he proposes to do.

We can give you all kinds of reasons, but I'm sure you will dismiss them because you don't want to see what he has accomplished, despite the plowhead cons who admit to blocking stuff they agree with just so the black guy doesn't have a win.

See the link below for some of what he has done.

By the way: record Dow highs, corporate profits at record highs in the 60 years they've been tracking them, unemployment down significantly, people have hope of getting insured, housing prices up, housing starts up, or status in the international community is up, fewer terror attacks than under GW, ending one war and working on ending another

We were losing 800,000 jobs a month when Bush left office. Now we are gaining about 200,000. That's a one million a month job difference.

By the way, presidential historians have him as one of the top 15 presidents.

Perhaps the real question should be what has the GOP done since 2008 other than being too cowardly for votes on just about anything that Obama proposes.

Go to whitehouse.gov and recovery.gov and read, read, read. Then try the following websites:

http://whattheheckhasobamadonesofar.com/ and http://pleasecutthecrap.typepad.com/main... for even more reasons why we, the people, chose our nation-saving and highly intellgent President Obama for his first and then his second term.

To remind yourself of the horrific damages caused by the rightwing Republicans' always-fail policies that began in 2001 that took this nation into near-permanent third-world bankruptcy, review former Fed Chairman (and Republican) Alan Greenspan's under-oath mea culpa testimony before a Senate Subcommittee wherein he admitted that the GOP's deregulation was a primary cause for the collapse of our housing and credit markets, followed by the devastating FINANCIAL SYSTEM MELTDOWN in 2007-2008: "I was WRONG to believe that they (banks, Wall Street, insurers, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) could or even WOULD self-regulate." The Bush/GOP bailout of the criminal banksters with TARP ($800 BILLION in taxpayer dollars) had no rules or oversight in place for how the dollars could be used, so then-President-Elect Obama (November 2008) convinced the Democrats in Congress to put an immediate FREEZE on the second half until some rules-for-use and provisions for a PAYBACK with INTEREST could be put into place---something that led to a LIMIT on banksters salaries from their multi-$millions$ to a "mere" $500,000 per year until they had PAID TAXPAYERS BACK WITH INTEREST on the money they'd had to borrow to stay out of bankruptcy. This signed-into-law legislation once President Obama was sworn in netted us a whopping $181 BILLION in paybacks by December 2009 from 14 of the biggest borrowers and worst offenders out of the more than 400 banks the lawless Bush/Cheney administration had chosen to bail out---and that $181 BILLION was used to PAY DOWN the GOP-caused deficit by 8% (see Bloomberg News, Reuters, and MSNBC's evening news from January 2010).

Bailing out the troubled U.S. auto industry, which the rightwing Republicans were in favor of letting slide into bankruptcy, took tremendous political courage on President Obama's part---and yet this was the correct decision that saved hundreds of thousands of jobs and kept the auto industry plants on American soil. If you read the materials cited above and then get yourself a copy of Michael Grumwald's (2012) "The New New Deal: The Hidden Story of Change in the Obama Era," you should get an inkling of why President Obama is an absolute Godsend for this GOP-damaged nation.

Because I'd rather have a pragmatic centrist in the White House than some right wing religious nut!

Because not everybody is able to support themselves without help, and they are willing to suck up their pride and look towards government programs for assistance. They also want more social equality where they don't have to fit the cultural norm someone has set in order to live their lives in the United States comfortably
