BRITISH CHEQUE QUERY?

Hi i am on my last cheque of my cheque book and need to pay my nursery bill (its costly so i pay by cheque rather than cash and cannot pay by DD)..

Basically i've missed out the payee (the nursery) and just input how much i wanted to pay by mistake. can i add the payee to the bottom line of the cheque (where i would usually put how much i wanted to pay) or not?

saves me having to order a new cheque book ??
