Samsung Galaxy S4 vs Apple iPhone 5?

This is why I believe that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is better than the iPhone 5

1. It is quicker (1.9 quad core processor/ 1.6ghz Octa core vs 1.3 dual core processor)

2. Microsd- you can expand the memory with a 64gb microsd. This a cheaper way to expand your memory and you can have a 16 gb S4 and still have more storage than iphone 5 if you get a 64gb microsd.

3. USB OTG- you can read usb keys no problem with an adapter so you can check out whats on them so you don't have to put your computer on.

4. Microusb charger- Better than the lighting connector as you can get them http://easi.ly/ and cheaply but also you might have it from other devices as it is becoming standard for smartphones to use microusb chargers.

5. Removable battery- This means you can replace the battery if you run out of charge when you are around unlike the iphone 5 which you have to charge or bring an external charger and charge it from there, however this is an awkward way of charging your phone. Also the removable battery can help you prevent water damage as you can remove the battery if it falls in water, thus reducing the chances of water damage.

6. NFC- Want to transfer a music album quicker than bluetooth, well now you can with NFC. You can also use Tectiles 2 to make your life easier

7. Customizable- Change launcher(Are you bored, get a new launcher that suits you and your personality), custom ROM your phone and have access to apps specifically made for rooted devices directly on the play store. You control the device so that it suits you.

8. Dropbox- Love cloud storage well Samsung is offering 50gb free of charge to S3 owners for 2 years on Dropbox. Backup music, video, photos(this can be done automatically), documents etc. Who doesn’t want this amount of free cloud storage?(You have to complete a certain amount of steps to get the free storage but none requires any credit card details or anything to complicated) (N.B Not everyone will be offered this bonus as carriers have been known to have stopped Samsung from offering this to customers)

9. Screen- It’s bigger but not to big. It has 441ppi vs iPhone5’s 326ppi plus the Amoled screen creates beautiful colors.

I also found no problems when using one hand, and I have medium hands if not small hands.

10. LED indicator- A small LED on the top of your device shows what notifications you got by distinguishing them with colours(For example blue for email, green for charged) This means you can see what the notification was about without putting your screen on. It is extremely useful feature for those than hate wasting time.

11. Android features-Widgets, live wallpapers, Google Now and all the beauty of android, widgets on the lockscreen etc

12. Samsung added features

a. Smartstay- won't turn the screen off if you are still looking at it.

b. Smartpause- pauses a video when you turn around and turns it back on when you turn back

13. Camera- It has a 13mp camera vs iPhone 5’s 8mp. It has more features than than the iPhone’s camera which makes it even better.

a. Dual shot- take photos from both cameras so that you can include the photographer in a photo

b. Photo with audio message- record a message before or after a photo to add to a photo

c. Eraser shot- can remove unwanted moving content

d. Drama shot- takes pictures of a moving object and puts the moving object through the whole picture

14. Multitasking- watch videos while online, write an email while watching a video, send a message while surfing the web, you can split the screen in two so you can multitask without a bother, this cannot be done on the iPhone 5.

15. Durability- The S4 does not suffer from scratches like the iphone 5 where the back of the phone is aluminium and scratches really easy, the S4 does not suffer this fate.

Everyone on here will tell you the phone they prefer rather than the best phone ! And to a point this is all they can do has what is the best phone for me may not be the best phone for the next person. However i have been a very loyal apple user for years and own many apple products including a Imac desktop a macbook air and the ipad mini. And i have owned every iphone ever released so as you can probably tell i really like apple products, but even i have jumped ship recently and picked up the Galaxy note 2. And i have to say it has been a real eye opener as the phone is leaps and bounds ahead of the iphone on the software features side which i never though would happen has i hold apple in very high regards.

So i suppose it really boils down to what you want from the phone ? In apple you will have a beautiful looking and very well made device that runs a very smooth operating system but in all honesty is a little underwhelming after a while.

Or if you would prefer cutting edge features and a larger screen and more open operating system that allows for a lot of tweaking and customising.

I for a long time preferred apple and to a certain extent still think the iphone has good merits but there is no way at this minute in time i would be willing to give up the things the Galaxy note 2 can do and the openness and freedom i get with android.

If you want smooth and stable os, go with iphone 5. If you like multitasking and big screen, go with galaxy s4. To answer your questions about the features that you want, the galaxy s4 has everything except maybe the camera. However, Samsung added a few features that you might want to check out before making a decision. I am a moderate user (texting, gaming, web browsing, calling, streaming audio) and managed to use the galaxy s4 with a single charge. I do turn things off when not in used for example gps, Bluetooth, wifi, etc... Gaming is also very good with galaxy s4 because of better ppi and bigger screen.

The samsung galaxy s4 does have a little lag but I believe it will be fixed on the next update. I do feel Samsung rushed out Jelly Bean 4.2.2. They didnt optimize Touchwiz and it actually crashed more often than the GS3.

Galaxy S4

Samsung is so much better than iphone.. the battery life is tones better. Iphone5 battery is really crap.. u can get a up to 64 gb micro sd memory card for samsung. Increasing memory very cheaply. The samsung can do so much more. But consider getting a galaxy note 2. Its just as good as the s4 and probably cheaper. And u soon get used to the larger size and come to love the large screen. Its a great phone for creative people having so many options.. look at the online reviews and comparisons between samsung and iphone5. Most people prefere samsung.

For camera : the samsung s4 camera is much better, and comes with variety of settings by which you can select instant shots, or you can download an app for that ( still better resolution than iphone 5)

For apps: the iOS apps are much better than the android, done with more care , and all games are fun where android have so much games with bugs and crashes.

By specifications the samsung s4 is much better, faster as hardware, but the iOS is smarter in use of the speed.

For design the iphone 5 is nicer and more classy ( I can also advice you to consider htc one for the design)

For screen size : galaxy s4 has a bigger screen

So I think s4 is better for you, but if depends on you, if you want a simple phone , which is in style and expensive enough , go for the iphone 5. While if you want to customize your phone for your needs, and everyday use, go for the samsung s4

K so I'm in the same situation as you. I have no clue which one to get and I'm horrible at decision-making! However, I've done some research and the SGS4 seems to beat te iPhone by a lot. There are good videos am websites about it tht really make it seem like an awesome phone. So a cool thing about the camera is that it can take dual shot which means that the person taking a picture of other people can be in the picture too! And there are many editing effects or drama shots and even pictures with sound on it so its like a video but it's actually a photo. And the SGS4 is supposed to have a much better camera lens (I've seen it myself) and much better quality. You can also control the phone without even touching it by using air gesture or something like that where you-wait, instead of me telling you all this, go look it up on a website or YouTube vid. It seems really cool! Good luck!

It all dumbs down to personal preference. The Samsung smartphones are faster and have more features, but the elegance and simplicity of the iPhone may overrule that. Perhaps you can go to a Samsung and an Apple store and get a chance to use the phone- decide which you like better.

I am going to wait until the iPhone 6. If it isn't groundbreaking and revolutionary, I'm giving up on Apple. Nothing they come up with is original nowadays. They survive off their past reputation and basic concepts that Steve Jobs established, such as elegance and simplicity. More and more people are switching over to other phone brands, because Apple is getting behind.

Honestly the S4 would be the better choice. Once upon a time it was apple but they've fell short in terms of originality and uniqueness.

I would say Samsung Galaxy S4 because each time Samsung produce a phone, they change the designs to improve it and adds more/extra features unlike apple, all of the app products are same like ipad and ipod are same as iphone but ipad and ipod doesn't have the feature to call and the size is different and I have to admit, the new Samsung Galaxy S4 really takes the cake and far the best phone so far. But I suppose its your choice to choose because you know what they say, "everyone have their own opinion tastes" lol
