Please help me write a free verse poem?

I'm 15 and I have to write two poems. Both free verse. One has to be about your identity (as a person I guess) and the other about a hardship in your life. I don't really have a hardship? Maybe a death in the family so can you help me write about that? and maybe an example for identity

    I look in the mirror

    Who do I see?

    Reflections of a woman

    All things past

    I wish I could retrace

    Joy of watching spring

    And knowing

    All that will be.

    Hardship-

    The sun still shines

    But your not here

    I remember ur laughter

    Your smile

    Cherished memories

    Of you and I

    Fade away

    Fly away and be free

    Like a cloud that passes by

    And the sun still shines.
