How are Dutch people generally? Can I move to the Netherlands without being worried about the mentality?
I was thinking about moving to Holland this year, specially because I would be closer to my mom in Germany and my father in France (Somewhere between them). :)
I recently read stupid things on the internet saying that: "dutch people are rude, dutch people are selfish, not friendly to different people and I wonder if that's the case or not. Of course I don't wan't to believe in all the crap cause I actually was in Holland and people I've met were pretty friendly. But then again I was on holiday and I only spoke to some bartenders, bud-tenders and some mason near a weird masonic building :) . In reality don't really know any dutch people. Can you make friends with them, will someone hire me if i'm not dutch?
I would be really nice to hear some opinions, people that moved there from other countries like Hungary, Romania or other eastern Europe country, what do you think about the Dutch mentality.
Or Dutch people, what do you think of people like me that want to come into your country to live and work? Do you automatically hate them or do you try to integrate them into your society?
Any answers would be appreciated
(PS Please no short answers like: "The Dutch are quite Ok... The Dutch are quite selfish etc", be more specific because It is important to me, thank you in advance. All the best

Dutch people can be perceived as rude, but we generally aren't. We are direct, which is what people consider rude. Ask us our opinion and we will give a fair one.
Across the world the Dutch are known as one of the most tolerant people in the world. But we have limits, we dislike (not 'hate') immigrants that don't make an effort to fit in. People that come here and expect us to learn THEIR language, accept their customs without them accepting ours and make exceptions to our law for them are what irks us. We try, trust me have classes and schools and special things and whatnot, but some people are very vocal in their dislike of such people (Geert Wilders being a well known one).
But we won't just walk up to you and say 'go home'. If you try you'll find that everyone is very tolerant and open minded and will try their best to make you at ease. Making a friend is easy, even if you only speak English because we tend to flock to those people to 'show off' our own epic language skills.
The person saying that Dutch people are cold and not easygoing is making things up. I don't know which part of Rotterdam he visited but it wasn't the parts I've ever seen and I live near Rotterdam. People don't just walk up to you to sell you drugs on every corner of the street. And the whole 'no one on the street after 6' is untrue as well. 6 'o clock is merely the average time a Dutch family eats dinner, but that's all, you can see enough people on the street in the evening.
Jeroen Wijnands is right though, jobs are hard to find for uneducated foreigners. Depending on your education and language skills (some jobs won't mind you only speaking English) you'll have either an easy or a hard time finding one.
And my opinion, being Dutch myself, on you coming to 'my' country to work? Go ahead, working is good. Anyone that comes here to work is welcome and will be integrated quite decently, it are the people coming here for free houses and mooch off of our tax money that are (in my opinion) not always welcome. So, in my opinion, get a moving truck and settle in.
I hope this clears some things up.

It depends on you..but Dutch people are generally very cold and not easy going..So it's not very easy for a foreigner first days to interact with dutch people..In Holland, just like usa,the people are from a lot of different cultures and countries like Chinese,Indonesian,Surinamese and Turkish and also Arab and Berberi Moroccans..So I mean those are mostly immgrants who are not very well loved by the indigenous dutch people..When I said they arent generally friendly I mean white poeple but when it comes to immigrants they are more friendly and easy going and as I experienced in Rotterdam and Amsterdam,,especially arabs ask you to give them some money or offer you to buy some illegal drugs like ecstacy or stuff like that...And If you speak english to them ,sure they would understand you because most of them speak it as well but they also realize you are a foreigner and that they act cold to you..They will like you more probably if you speak dutch and thus integrate into their society but in general dutch people are not very open--minded and they do simple and random things on a day,and at after like 6 pm you cant even see anybody on the street..I mean they live a simple and even a boring life..

Dutch are direct which can be interpreted as rude.
Theres hardly any jobs here at the moment, especially for poorly educated foreigners who don't speak the language (not saying you are that but we do get a lot of them here)
