Quick question about asymptotes.?

Is y=0 an asymptote?

    From the picture, yes, it would be.

    We assume here that the line will approach 0 or y = 0 as we follow x to ∞ and to -∞, so we have two horizontal asymptotes.

    A way to check this if you are given a function is to take the limit of the function as x --> ∞, -∞ and if you get a finite number, you have a horizontal asymptote.
