Can I bake with a springform pan that has a leak?
I normally set up the pan then pour water in it while swirling the pan to see if the water leaks out at any point. Unfortunately, there's a leak in my springform pan, would it be alright if I sealed the pan with a dough and bake with it? Will the batter still leak out, once sealed with dough?

Yes, you can bake in a springform pan that has a leak. You should realize that the very nature of a springform pan is that it sometimes leaks, especially if the batter is very, very thin. What you can do is to wrap the entire bottom of the pan in a single sheet of aluminum foil, which will provide a good seal for the pan. That is, tear a piece of aluminum foil that is a bit larger than the pan. Place the pan in the middle of the foil, and crimp the rest of the foil against the pan to form a seal. After you have filled the pan with the batter, you can also place the pan on a larger pan, just to ensure that the batter won't leak out of the foil-wrapped pan and drip on the oven's floor.

Get Reynolds gradual Cooker - liner. Location springform pan in it and switch upside down. Cautiously location heavy duty aluminum foil protecting liner and pan up the edges. Turn back over and adjust. To be sure aluminum foil up the edges and isn't torn. Just right luck, it really works for me up to now. A job to not be rushed.
