I need help finding Bible verses related to this topic.?

My mother and father want to switch churches because they don't like our church. We've been going to this church every Sunday, Wednesday, and whatever other event goes on there since I was in 1st grade. I'm in 7th grade now. I've practically grown up in this church. These people are my family. My mom told me to give her 5 reasons why I should stay, and I must find Bible verses or Biblical things to back up my reasons.

My reasons are:

1. I've grown up here, and you don't simply leave home.

2. The only reason I have friends other than my school friends is church. Most of the people I'm close to go to my church. Even some of my best friends from school go there.

3. The people from the other church option are all very rude to me, and two of them have bullied me for a whole year. Not very Christian like...

4. This gives me a purpose in life. I have somewhere to go during the week and weekend. My sunday school teachers have taught me so much about participating in things and reaching out. (I don't participate in sports or anything because I'm a nerd. I made a 20 on the ACT)

5. I just started going to youth about four months ago. I have made so many new friends in youth that it's unbelievable. They have taught me to always be loving. They showed me how to have conversations free of insults, gossip, AND awkward silences.

Can anyone help me find Bible verses to back these up? I will love you forever. :)

True Biblical interpretation of the word is so much more important than personal wishes. Almost any non-charismatic church is better then one that is.

    Finding Bible Verses By Topic

    1. There are no Bible verses that says you don't leave where you've grown up. Jesus did. Moses did. Joseph did. David did. Leaving home is kind of a thing in the Bible.

    2. There are no Bible verses that says you should limit yourself to the friends you have now. And there are no Bible verses that say that if you see your friends a little less often, they will stop being your friends. If they do, they weren't that good of friends to begin with. True friendship would withstand something as mundane as going to different churches.

    3. The Bible does say that Christians should love one another (John 13) and be one with each other (John 17). So it would be wrong for Christians to be rude to you or bully you.

    4. There is no verse in the Bible that says there is only one group of Christians in the whole universe that can give you a purpose in life. JESUS is supposed to give you purpose in life.

    5. This is the same as #2. Friendship withstands any distance.

BTW, you and your parents should choose a church based on what is TRUE, not based on your personal whims.

You tell your mother you only need one reason, and that is related to what Jesus had to say regarding knowing a true congregation from a false one, by whether they have love for one another. You tell her you are loved in the first church, and treated very badly by people in the second one. You then tell your mother that if she wants to ignore the words of Christ, then she is free to do so, but that there will probably be consequences.

Doesn't sound like they gave 5 reason to leave- but it is never fair to be a child with masters, oops, I mean parents ordering you about. Ask them if you can go there by yourself? Si?

why don't you ask them their reasons for leaving?

or you can go to both the old one and the new one... that's what i do.
