High school football combine?Should I go?
In is a football combine in my area next week and minor too sure if I should go. I don't want to go because Im not very strong and I feel that I will be embarrassed by some of the stronger guys getting 20+ reps on the 185lb bench press while I'm doing like 5-8 as I weigh only 155lb at 5'7 and soon to be a senior. Im also worried about getting torched in the one on one drills a i think im a decent corner but probably not good enough to cover these guyss. Just wondering if I should just wait for camps in the summer after I've bulked up a little or go to this one and see how I do? I don't really want to spend the money just to do extremely bad and make myself look like a terrible football player.

Why not.. That way you can see what you are up against and how much you need to do to get as good or better than the other guys... At least you come away with a little more experience and will probably learn a few new things that will help you later in down the road... Good luck.....

Do you have any idea how many people make it to the NFL. There are probably over 5 million adolescent/teenage kids that have a dream of playing in the NFL. A NFL roster at the end of training camp has 80 players, there are 32 teams so that is 2560 players. So you have a 1 in 1953 chance of making to the NFL. But your chances are probably a whole lot smaller because it does not sound like you have played any type of organized football. Play Middle School Football it is experience that you will need. P.S. Have a plan B because there are so many useless adults that thought "I will make to the NFL, I don't need to try in school" but the truth is in the numbers 1 in 1953.

I was just like you man. I was small in high school and didnt go to combines for the same reason. You should definitely go. first of all 8 reps of 185 at 155lbs is not bad. plus combines are how you get ur name out there to college coaches. i made the mistake of not going to any and now im at a junior college when i could be playing d1 in the future.

8 reps of 185 at 155 lbs is actually pretty damn impressive dude, especially for high school. Why not go? What do you got to lose? Just because you're small doesn't mean anything. Look at guys like Darren Sproles, Trindon Holliday, Santana Moss etc. They're all hella tiny, but F*** $*** up on the field. Give it a shot brah!

Yes, I highly encourage you to attend your high school football combine next week. Based on your height and weight, I believe that you will make a very good fit at cornerback. You have the ideal size for a high school senior cornerback.
In addition to attending football combines, my best advice for you is to work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do this offseason is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of being a successful, top notch cornerback in high school football this upcoming season, who could go on to play college football.
By the way, your chances of playing college football depend on your performance in football during your senior year of high school. If you perform very well in football this upcoming season, you will greatly improve your chances of getting recruited to play for a college football program.
