Is it possible to remove a PAID Michigan public records entry on a credit report?
Unfortunately I allowed H&R block to do my taxes two years ago because I was just too busy to do them and was not really looking forward to it anyway. The lady who prepared my taxes screwed up my taxes and filed for a credit that I did not quality for with the state of Michigan, eventually resulting in a lien being put on my credit report for $1273. Needless to say the taxes have been paid but now im stuck with this entry on my credit report which is now at an incredibly new low because of it. I know the federal government has their new program but Michigan does not from what I can find. Has anyone successfully removed this from their credit report, or am I doomed for another 7 years of bad credit? Please be specific in your steps, I want to get it right. Please don't just respond telling me how irresponsible I was or how I should have handled it, I already got that talk from my mother. Thanks

Accurate negative info stays on your credit report for 7 years, even if you later satisfy the debt in full. This time period starts from the original default date.
- The good news: just because it stays for 7 years, it does not mean that your credit rating is ruined for this entire time.
- You repair your own credit by proving that you can manage accounts without paying late or defaulting. You can get back to fair credit again in roughly a year and in two years you can have good credit again.
Pay any existing credit cards in full and on time every money. If you don't have any credit cards, consider getting a secured credit card and use that to rebuild your credit history.

No, it'll now not be removed instantly. Collections and public files keep in your credit record for 7 years, whether or not or not you pay them. You cannot cast off them completely before that point.
