Will 195/55-15 tires fit on rims that call for 200/50-15?

I found rims i want luckily in 15's,just wondering ( knowing that the 195/55-15 fit under my car now on stock rims), if that tire size will fit the new 15 inch rims i want that call for a 200/50-15. cars are my life, i love everything about them motor wise, but tire sizes confuse the hell out of me for some reason lol. thanks for the help

One number is height from rim one is width ask a mechanic I do believe you can. My dads car calls for 185s but he has 195s on it now

The tires are close enough in size that it should work. The real question is the offset of the new wheels, the distance from the back where the studs go through and the rim edge. This had better be the same.

nope.. why could you purchase 15" in case you have sixteen" rims? did you get them for loose? no adam, it doesnt count on the width. 15" tires are smaller than a sixteen" rim. 15" is the diameter of the wheel hollow no longer the width of the tire.
