What is the word I'm trying to think of? Spelling, English, Definition.?

There is a word that means "to explain something unnecessarily" It begins "escal"........ but I can't think of the word. Please help. I've tried searching online to no avail.

    There is no such word starting in (escal) to mean your definiton.

    There is only (escalate) which has different meaning.
