Oh, this news made my day. I just turned on Fox and sure enough Hannity is whining about Obama picking on the Tea party. Don't you love it.. the tea party now wants to be considered tax exempt... don't we all.

The Tea Party who operates under many assumed names thought they should be tax exempt for all of them. That is why they are being audited. Under Bush my parents sold a farm and got audited because the IRS thought they were not paying enough taxes. A nurse I worked with got audited under Bush because her husband lost his business and they reported a loss. What makes the Tea Party so special that they think they deserve special treatment.

The Tea Party isn't hostile to paying taxes. It's hostile to paying HIGHER taxes.

So yes, it is unreasonable. The Tea Party is overwhelmingly law-abiding.

Are you aware of how many tax cheats there are in the Democrat party? Tea Party people may want low taxes but that doesn't make them tax cheats. I'm sick and tired of the Tea Party being smeared. They are mostly people's grand parents who sing the national anthem and pick up after their rallies so you would never know there was a rally there, yet you would think they were a band of anarchists, racists, blah, blah, blah. They are normal Americans or at least what was considered normal before 2009.,

Do you have any hostility towards paying unfair taxes? If not, just send in a big check to the IRS. Our progressive income tax is a socialist scheme to redistribute wealth. But the top 1% will never suffer or even pay this tax and Obama knows it. It will be us middle class saps that get stuck paying for his grand schemes.

The Tea Party is problably also representative of small business owners, etc. etc. etc. (alot of who are part of the 1%).

I doubt they we're targeted for being members of the Tea Party....

They we're targeted for PAYING taxes.

The IRS has no interest in investigating people who don't pay taxes. That leaves out the entirety of the Democrat party.

What about the other conservative groups targeted by the IRA sweetie?

Also the IRS apologized and said they were wrong so yeah, it really was unreasonable.

Eric Holder, HEAD OF THE IRS, is a tax cheat.

It's not Tea Partiers who don't pay taxes. If they didn't pay taxes, they wouldn't be yelling about how high they are. And yes, it is unreasonable to use government agencies to target political dissenters. It's in fact, tyrannical.

Apparently there is no one in the upper echelon of the IRS that seems to think so, hence the apology.

Not only what they did was unreasonable but it was also a criminal act, complete with it;s own set of laws that cover it.
