Health Insurance question....what do I do?

I was recently denied medical coverage by medicaid because I make $200 too much. I had low income insurance called Basic Health from Washington state. I got a new job last july, so I make more money than in previous years. I'm 26 yrs old, single, and was treated for thyroid cancer a year ago. I have 20 days to decide what new medical insurance to get. My choices are to get medical insurance with my job (First Choice Network PPO) or to apply for the Washington Health Program. I don't know anything about insurance so I have no idea which would be better or if I would even qualify for Washington Health program. My only other choice is to cut back my hours at work and reapply for basic health in six months. What should I do? My premium for my work insurance would be $120 a month with a $600 deductible and $25 copay for appointments. Basic health was $66 a month and $10 copay. I have no idea what Washington Health program would be. Is it better to have a government back individual health plan or a health plan through my job?

Most government-backed individual plans are not very good, and you don't know if you qualify.

Take the plan through your job.

Government healthcare is not insurance, it's a social service program.

Medicare is a senior citizen or disabled benefit. If you aren't eligible for that, it's a general welfare program.

Health insurance which you can purchase through your employer, another group program, or individually is always better than a welfare based social service program.

I would get the numbers from Washington HC and see which is the cheapest for the most coverage and how that balances with the possibility of fewer hours for the Medicaid and then do what is best for you even if you have to "work" the system. Screw owebama care. It won't be around for long anyway because it can't work financially.

Take the job insurance since that is what Obama care requires you to do. If your job offers insurance you MUST take it.
