Can I pull out a stump with my Chevy Express 1500 Van?
It's already half out of the ground. The tree fell over in a storm.

It depends on how well anchored the stump is and the size. I may be able to pull it out by hand. A construction craine may not be able to remove it.

If you have tow hooks on the front or a trailer hitch on the rear, yes.
Run the garden hose around the tree stump over night. It will pull out easier if the ground is super saturated with water. If you got a tow hitch, back up to the stump. Use a long tow strap. Go from the hitch, around the stump once and to the hitch. What you want to do is make a loop around the stump so when you start pulling the loop will tighten up and not slip off the tree stump. Put the truck in LOW and pull slow. Have someone off the the side watching everything so they can yell for you to stop if some problem appears. DO NOT try to jerk it out with a sudden snap. That could break the two strap, in which case you could end up with a broken window on the back of your truck. Or it could break your tow hitch. Sometimes you have to put a lot of tension on the stump and then just wait for it to slowly pull loose. It never hurts to put tension on it and then shoot water into the newly formed hole or crack that appears as you start the pull. You might have to alternate directions that you pull. Pull north, then east, then north, etc so you wiggle wag the stump out. Or North, south, north, south, etc. Again do NOT try to do a sudden jerk on the line.

I really doubt it. I have an Express 3500 and the back end is too light to give good traction, especially on dirt/grass. You might get better traction on a hard surface. You would have to do a lot of preliminary work and cut the roots first. Then you can just tow it out of the hole.

If possible roll it out. Cut tree free. hook chain to largest root cut free with chainsaw then pull the stump sideways to roll it out. Cutting roots as to go. Unless you have sandy soil tree roots are hard to pull out. And need cut loose as the stump is pulled sideways.

UM NO!!!!! till you like a tendency bumper & no directly to attaching the rope to the axle. you be attentive to, those axles will pass in case you attempt to drag it out with a rope attaches to it then you definitely will look fairly stupid happening the line sideways from the rear axle crooked
