Take a look at this one on ebay.

It's at 14,000 right now & it needs EVERYTHING.

You may be able to find a less desirable one, but there is no way to actually restore one in one year.

find something running & driving & fix it up a little.

If you have the time and money it would be a great idea, I'm all for it, but you must also look at your ability to maintain this vehicle down the road. Is this a practical vehicle for you,and will it last a long time? Practical with money/maintenance issues, along with the overall capabilities with the vehicle. Now whenever it comes to working on a vehicle, don't ever rush, take your time and do things right, because believe it or not this vehicle will be with you for quite a while, so do things once, and do it right.

A 69 Camaro that is in a condition good enough to be restored would cost more than most 17 year olds can come up with. That doesn't count the thousands of dollars of parts to restore it. Really. Look at craigslist.

If you have the skill, tools and money to do that car I would do it in a heart beat. You need to look at what the car needs and price out what it would cost for the parts to repair or upgrade those parts. Do you want to run 69' style suspension and brakes or are you looking at upgrading them? You have to figure all of this out and see if you can afford to pay for all of that in the next year.

You need to figure out if it needs anything that you can't do, (maybe paint, transmission...) and figure that cost and labor into your figures.

And after figuring all that into your budget, leave some room for unseen issues. You could have a cracked head, bad rust, damaged part that you were hoping that you could reuse.

Good luck with this project if you take it on. It could be fun and a great learning experience.

depend on the condition of the car and what you planning to do to it.
