What's behind the "watch (name of movie) on line for free" questions?

Outside of someone having a genuinely bad financial situation, many who ask this question can wait for a used DVD or see a movie at a friend's house, or some other option, so why is seeing on line for free the goal? Sometimes the question is asked before a movie is even released. Just wondering.

A lot of the time the question is being asked by someone who then signs on with another account to answer the question. This is an attempt to advertise some illegitimate websites.
