Shish Kebab (or Kebob, Kibob, or Kabob) can be made in the oven using your broiler. Use a cookie sheet with sides to catch drippings (line it with foil for easy cleanup). cut meat and vegetables to a uniform size (1.5" to 2" square, larger if using chunks of beef and want it rare). Broil for about 8 minutes or until starting to brown, flip and broil for another 7-8 minutes. Cut into meat to see if it is done, or use a meat thermometer. You get the same brown caramelization with the broiler as on the grill, but may lack the smoky flavor.

Here's a specific recipe for oven sausage kebabs with orange-ginger glaze, but you can use almost any meat/veggie/fruit combination:

sure you can, just prop the kabob skewers on a baking pan, like lay them across if you have the right size skewers and the right size pan, I use foil to keep them in place. Then either bake or broil them.

note: if you are using the bamboo skewers, soak them in warm water for about an hour before threading the goodies on them. for one thing they thread better and easier, and for another this prevents them burning at the tips which doesn't look so good.

Yes, Just soak your wooden skewers before loading them up and baste with a homemade sauce for flavour. It works, just does not have the BBQ outdoorsy taste.
