What do you think about my times?

I'm in eighth grade. A month and a half ago I joined track without any prior sprint training. I would love to be in the Olympics for 100m dashes and its my dream. At 13 years old I got a time of 12.17 in the 100m. I think its okay, but what are your opinions? I also dont know how to use blocks and don't know good sprinting form since I haven't run track before but I'm going to special training this summer. Do you think I could make it to Rio 2016?

100% you will not be going to Rio in 2016. You probably wont make 2020 either. Your times are very strong for your age (but for your age, you would be competing against grown athletes). It is most definitely a problem that you do not know good sprinting form, and do not know how to run with blocks. Go train with a professional coach, and put in the years that is required to compete in the olympics. No one just decides to do the Olympics, people train from a very young age to even get the shot to compete. If you start running around a 10 sec dash, then you might have a shot at qualifying.

Ok lets be honest, you probably aren't going to be in Rio in 2016..... But that doesn't mean you can't go to the Olympics in 2020 just keep working at it and trust me you will get there.... And as for your time, well that is really good for your age. Don't get me wrong you have potential but just keep trying that's my only advice....
