Where to now for the Demons?
They are an absolute disgrace. so much for tanking to get better.
It seems to me like none of the players really want to be there and it shows in the way they play. no confidence in their ability what so ever. their only win is against GWS and they could have easily lost that if they didn't click in the last quarter and other than that they have been slaughtered week in week out.
whats are your thoughts on the club? is it time for a new coach or should the AFL consider relocating Melbourne to see if it makes a difference?

Stick them in the VAFA or the Southern districts league where they may win 1 or 2 games..

Definitely a culture problem at the club. Stynes gave them a leader, now they have none. The club kills players, you can see first year players giving it their all while 3rd year players and beyond look like they've been discouraged to not even trying. Melbourne is a club the AFL should be fighting for given they were the first club, and there are plenty of supporters around.
It could just be a problem of circumstance. The team at the bottom when GC and GWS entered the competition was going to be in the awkward place of losing great game-changing players who go 1 and 2 if drafted well. But Melbourne have a particularly poor staff that this problem has been exaggerated. It should also be noted that the position they are in now, there is no quick fix. They need an injection of resources for training, conditioning, coaching, etc. The infrastructure to eventually pull themselves out of this dark place.

Just heard one of the Melbourne players say that they have to really show everybody what they are made of this week, how many times can they play that card, they did the same after Essendon and the WCE belted them by having a go against Carlton, supporters don't wont to see redemption, they want reaction on the day, there has been a losers culture at Melbourne and has been for 30 years, I'm not sure if they can crawl out of this hole they are in, poor selections at the draft table, panic buying in the off season, Rodan and Dawes!! a shrinking supporter base and a board that would be lucky to run a halfpenny s*** house let alone a footy club, the AFL should step in and take charge.

Yeah - that was dismal. It's like their supporters are only turning up now so they can say "I told em what a pack of useless lumps they are" to their mates.
Sickening to see supporters wave white flags and abuse their team. That will kill any culture they have left. Sad to see for a foundation club.
On paper you know they actually don't have that bad a list - but it's a rotten old place. It seemed to always be strung together with the respect for a dying man. If I was trying to fix it, I'd replace the entire board maybe keeping their new CEO but work big time on the public perceptions and culture of the club. The players include guys like Howe, Dawes, Sylvia, Viney, Byrnes, Watts, Gawn etc etc - all who either are or have the potential to be premiership players. There's nothing wrong with the coach on paper but their culture and approach seem to seriously suck.
Perhaps I'd pull them away from training and get them doing something completely different - community work perhaps. Trouble is - where exactly is the Demon "community" these days. Central Melbourne is full of drunks, 7-11's and latte sipping trendies! :-)
Therefore I reckon they should move in the long run, but not to Tasmania or the ACT. I reckon they should move permanently north of Melbourne and try to capture that market from Broadmeadows to Albury. Maybe they could play at Euroa or Wangaratta - they'd have no trouble fitting their crowds in!
EDIT: Yes KTS ... I've even spent a night or two there and I'm well aware of that ... but it would still be less embarrassing than trying to spread the AusKickers around the MCG to make it look like a crowd. That looks like what I used to do with my peas to convince Mum I'd eaten some!

I'm guessing your a Melbourne supporter as am I. I know what your feeling. I've been to all home games this year and most for the last 10 year.
First off Neelde is not the problem. Players should go before him they are the ones underperforming.
The players go out each week and bar Grimes, Jones, Clark and maybe Garland only the young players like Matt Jones and Jack viney are actually trying. They just jog around ball watching and then wonder why they lose. There a realy skilled group but they just don't seem to want to be there as you said. Plus no one can land a tackle. 144 atempted for 33 succesful in the GCS game.
Players need to be punished in some way for not performing. Maybe through their salary i don't know.

I saw my first VFL(as it was called in those days) in 1964, Melbourne V Collingwood, guess who won that!
I know it's been a long time between drinks, but footballs like that.
A new coach may make a difference, look at Port Adelaide, but recruiting is the answer, take a long look at the club draft committee, blending of new and experienced players.
When you are continually getting hammered, not only do you lose confidence but you lose motivation..
The coach should be the main motivator, he has many options available to him, play player in different positions, one on one talks with the use of a video, to study their game, so the list goes on...
Having fine weather supporters yell abuse at them when they are on the ground or leaving it does not help the moral, how good were we when or if we played!

Nowhere. They've fallen of a precipice and the carcass of Melbourne is splattered all over the ground.
Sacking Neeld would not be the answer and would also heap more financial pain upon them.

Well I mean someone has to finish on the bottom of the ladder... right???!
Business based decisions will have to be made... but as far as the footy is concerned... Just barrack for them if they are your team but get on with the rest of your life. Look after your kids, take them out for ice cream or dessert, have a heart to heart chat with a mate, make love to the misses every now, and of course go visit your mother in the nursing home that you put her in because you don't love her enough, etc... etc...!
Save your anger and frustration for the corporations and the governments that exploit people from impoverished countries... As comedian Steve Hughes once said "you should hate positively"!
Think about it this way!... One the one hand you have a professional football club whose team is struggling to win a game and may only win a few games this season. Then on the other hand you have a world of global corruption with corporations, banks and governments doing everything in their power to make sure that the wealthy elite remain wealthy and the rest of us remain anesthetized by the products that those same greedy elitists sell to us!... Mobile phones, big screen LCD TVs, cars, cigarettes, beer, alcohol, gambling.
Get some perspective!
At the end of the day, footy is footy and business is business. I'm sure it's not the end of the world if Melbourne struggle to win games for the rest of this year or the next (unless you decide to make your entire world revolve around that football club!)

For Jackson to stick to his words and follow through with what is needed...
Any move remains not likely in changes unless Jackson intervenes and says that it is necessary.

@quandary have you been to Euroa? You'd need 6 times the population for a half decent crowd
