Make this Math More Confusing?

Everyone's seen the problem that simplfies to i<3u, but if I'm gonna tell someone I love them, it's going to have to be hard to solve. CAn you make this problem unsimplified and hard to solve!

    i< 3u

    i + 1 < 3u + 1

    2(i + 1) < 2(3u + 1)

    2(i + 1) < 6u + 2

    2(i + 1) + ½ < 6u + 2 + ½

    2(i + 1) + ½ < 6u + 2½

    There is no ordering in the complex numbers ;)
