Over 40 and cannot lose the weight! Can you help?

I turned 40 a couple of years ago. I have always been slender and healthy up until that point.

Last year I went through a very tumultuous custody battle, and stress ate. I gained more than 10 lbs (which is a lot for someone 5'3").

Lately I have returned to eating healthier (1100 calories a day) and walking a mile a day.

Every day I take a multivitamin, and milk thistle (for healthy liver/digestion).

I also take an appetite suppressant (which works) and Slimquick (which doesn't work, so I stopped).

The scale is not budging, neither is my waistline.

I am at my wits end.

Can you offer some suggestions to get the process jump started?

Thank you.

Below is a link to a show on healthy eating that I saw on PBS a couple of months back. The link I had to the video on PBS said the episode had expired a couple weeks ago so I did an extensive search and found this link to the same show I saw. Depending on your internet connection it seems to be of ok quality for a streaming show. I saw it initially on TV so the video there was of top quality.

Please watch the entire episode to get the complete message. It may seem at first that what he's suggesting you do as far as eating habits are extreme or impossible but nearer the end of the show you'll see how to apply these eating principles to your everyday life in a way that is doable.

I haven't yet begun this way of eating but I'm seriously considering it. Please watch the ENTIRE episode before passing judgment. Then let me know what you think. I'm confident you'll be impressed with what you learn and how it will not only help you maintain a weight you want but also make you much more healthy.

Good luck to you and I hope you find this helpful!

Considering you are only 5'3'', it may be that youre doing just enough to maintain your body weight.

Or, the 1100 calories that you are eating are bad calories.

Maybe try amping up your exercise if you can, and completely cutting out junk food
