Insuring car for someone else?
My daughters acquaintance has asked her if she could insure a clio for him (a 2nd car for him )with her insurance company Tesco, he says he cant do it as his first car which is a hi-performance car is insured with an online company and they will not insure multiple cars. She has a her mini cooper insured with Tesco and is not sure to add another car for him as a favour. He said he will pay for fully comp but of course he will be using it everyday and the car will be in his name. Is there anything wrong in doing this and what could be the consquences please people?

It's fraud, plain and simple. The word you should be Googling is 'fronting', the insurance companies are well onto it and it carries huge penalties for both parties.
He'll likely lose his new licence and she'll find her next insurance premium will have an extra zero on the end of it.
Very bad idea.

Definite fraud. There is no reason why just like everyone else that he cannot take out a separate policy with the same or another insurer for the new car.
Its Fronting and could land them in jail in the worst circumstances.
Tesco would not in any case allow her to add another car to her existing policy - she too would have to take out a new separate policy to and achieve the fraud would have to lie to the insurer about who the real main driver, keeper and owner is.
I actual fact there is no way this would help anyone unless the insurance premium happened to be less for her than him.
As both have an existing policy in place on a car and that will not change neither will have a No Claims Bonus to use on a second policy at the same time

Hello
Tell your daughter to tell him she is not going to Front for him on an illegal insurance.
Legally whoever the Main Driver is going to be must be the Policy Holder.
They can only use there NCB for one Policy.
There is nothing stopping anybody from Owning more than one car but obviously the others will cost the Full Premium.
They could both be charged with Fraudulently Insuring the car.
And of should he have an accident she is the one who will lose the NCB on her mini Policy as she would legally have to declare it.
Tell her not to do it
,Tell her to warn any other friends she thinks he would ask.

She's not sure about doing it?
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!
It's a crime (fraud) and will involve your daughter having her own insurance voided and then not being able to get insurance. If the insurance company (Tesco) wants to get heavy about it they could take her to court and she'd get done for fraud, which would involve a fine and a criminal record. Insurance companies don't mess about when it comes to dealing with people that try to defraud them.

as people have said its fraud but not only that if he has any kind of accident it will send your Daughters cost of insurance sky high
I did it for a friend who had fallen on hard times in the first year he had two accidents that where both in my name it now costs me 3 times what I use to pay before I let him on my insurance and that is why he could not get insurance in his own name because he was a bad driver
so my advice to your daughter is, don't do it

Hell yes there is something wrong its called insurance fraud. So do not do this. The legal owner is the only one who can insure a vehicle. Its not your daughters problem. Also the story is B S The real reason is the butt head has too many tickets and his insurance is outrageous. He wants to take advantage of your daughters good insurance to get cheap insurance for himself.
Don't tell her this but unless she is on the title and puts him on there as the primary driver ( plus they must live at the same address) it is insurance fraud plain and simple.
his story makes no sense he is using your daughter.

Tell him to get his own insurance from Tesco, if hes legit then there wont be a problem doing that.

Is there anything wrong?
Yes.
In two words: INSURANCE FRAUD
What your daughters "friend" is proposing is illegal.
I recommend that your daughter tell her friend, "I'm sorry. But I can't legally insure your car for you. You'll have to get your own policy".

If its not a problem why can't he get insured under his 1st car, sounds dodgy, I wouldn't encourage my daughter in that situation,
