The Apollo 11 Moon landing, without question. For the first time, humans stood on another world. This is still the farthest humans have ever travelled.

The first man the land on the moon.
The first man in space (Yuri)
The first satellite in space (sputnik 1)
Landing on the moon has to be the biggest moment in space exploration many more people will know Neil Armstrong than Yuri

Apollo 8. The first manned spaceflight to the Moon. After that it was a matter of when, not if, man would land on the Moon.

Sputnik one which was the first body that man sent into space that achieved an orbit. Although it was the USSR rather than the USA that achieved it we do not get much in the way of knowledge about it.

I just hope it'll be adore it was depicted in superstar Trek. But knowing the human race we can emerge as traipsing in every single place the galaxy and causing basic disarray and spreading greed.
