I can be away from Canada for 182 days a year /6 months - where's inexpensive place to live?

I'm thinking maybe Vietnam, Mexico or somewhere in Central America? maybe Spain or Italy... I need to check the crime stats tho.

Update:

I can be away that long visa wise - doesn't mean I can be away that long . that's the ideal.

    Usually such places are not safe.....

    Thailand? Haha....Malaysia?

    I don't think Mexico and Central America are safe

    Just avoid public places, and get your passports ready to leave anytime

    Seri Lanka is beautiful, cheap, and safe. I've been there and spent like a week it was the best week of my entire life
