What purpose does the Bible serve?

Er, well, the largest of my versions serves to hold up the smaller books on that particular shelf.

If you could buy a book that could foretell the future thousands of years in advance, if you could buy the most popular book ever written, if you could buy a copy of the first book ever written, if you could buy a book that told you how to farm, how to have faith, how to live and not die, how to love and not hate, how to be healed and not be lame, wouldn't that not only be a book worth buying, but worth reading, studying and learning?

You could also think of it as a picture album of the Son of God. The thing is if I showed you a picture album of my son and you were disinterested, I would stop showing you the pictures. That is the same way with the Word of God. If you are not interested, God will not show you the pictures of His son. Just getting through The Book to say you read it, will not impress Him. It will not please Him. Looking for His Son will please Him. And He will show you His Son.

The bible is for men a clock of the times and seasons of the heavens and the earth as God has declared from the beginning

Mmmm what do the Word of God (bible) purpose serve to you? To me is a blue print of how He wants us to worship and live before Him!

Adding to that, you are not going to find the Truth listening to just any minister that happens to be preaching on TV or radio while asking for money.

The Bible is the word of God. It point us towards Jesus. It gives us all the things we need to know about God, salvation, and how we should live our lives.

to give instruction on how to live in this lifetime for the next lifetime. a historical text as well about the jews and the beginning of christianity. a foretelling of what is to come.

It just confuses me as hell because they told that there is the original version (The most original in fact) that the romans burned. Well, I WANT THAT ORIGINAL VERSION!
