At your job, do you admit mistakes or do you deflect/change the subject?

I've noticed that a lot of people just change the subject, rather than admit a mistake and I am the only one who admits mistakes.

No i also admit mistakes this way you can correct them and get advise on how to avoid it in the future.

But no one likes to admit they're wrong.

The trick is to FIX your mistakes before anyone else finds out :-)

If some-one else finds out first, focus on 'how to fix it' not 'who's to blame' ..

For example, if someone tries to 'drop you in it' with your Boss with 'You got that wrong', respond with 'Will you help me fix it ?' ... (this drops them right back in it since they can't say 'no' in front of the Boss without seeming to be uncooperative / not a team player ..)

I think it shows a strength of character if you can admit mistakesThe important thing is to learn from it.

Sorting it out is a better option...
